National Progress Reports on EU Stress Tests

The National Progress Reports on EU Stress Tests for the EU Member States with operational nuclear power plants and Lithuania are now available under the list of documents section, category reports, for public information.

Statement about the EU Stress Tests by Mr. Andrej Stritar, chairman of ENSREG

Last night ENSREG, including the European Commission, reached a consensus on the scope and modalities of a comprehensive and transparent risk and safety assessment ("stress tests") of European nuclear power plants, as requested by the European Council (24/25 March 2011). As requested by the European Council also, ENSREG made full use of available expertise, notably from the Western European Nuclear Regulators Association (WENRA), which had started working on the scope and methodology already at its spring meeting, March 22/23, 2011.

Declaration of ENSREG - EU "Stress Tests" specifications

Today ENSREG and the European Commission agreed on the criteria and the way forward with respect to carrying out the comprehensive risk and safety assessments, which will be applied to all 143 nuclear power plants within the EU.

Please read the attached file with a copy of the declaration and associated annex outlining the speciifications of the "Stress Tests".

Statement from Mr Andrej Stritar, Chairperson of ENSREG, 13 May 2011

After two days of detailed discussions concerning the content and modalities of the comprehensive risk and safety assessments of the EU nuclear power plants ('stress tests'), ENSREG has reached a point where there is a fair degree of agreement among almost all Members of ENSREG and the European Commission on the substance while some Members and the European Commission still have to scrutinize the text.

New statement which includes ENSREG Work Programme for 2010-2011.

Following the 11th Group's meeting of 15 January 2010 Andrej Stritar, Chair of ENSREG, published a statement which includes ENSREG Work Programme for 2010-2011.
