The Nuclear Safety Directive 2014/87/Euratom requires EU Member States to undertake, every six years, national assessments on a specific topic related to nuclear safety, followed by a peer review by other Member States, with the European Commission as an observer.
The second topical peer review activities on the subject of 'fire protection at nuclear installations' started in 2021 and culminated in the issue of the ENSREG Summary Report and 22 country review reports in 2025.
The corresponding national assessment reports, the replies to written questions from peer review experts and stakeholders on the national assessment reports, and the country peer review reports can be accessed by selecting the relevant participating country at these links: EU Member States / Other countries.
