The European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) second conference on Nuclear Safety will take place at the European Commission’s Charlemagne Building located in Brussels, Belgium on 11-12 June 2013.
ENSREG is an independent, authoritative expert body. It is composed of senior officials from the national nuclear safety, radioactive waste safety and/or radiation protection regulatory authorities from all 27 Member States in the European Union and representatives of the European Commission.
The objective of the ENSREG conference is to present the situation on nuclear safety in Europe two years after the Fukushima accident. It will focus on the follow-up of the stress tests of nuclear power plants, particularly the national action plans and their implementation. Other topics will include off-site emergency preparedness and response and developments in the EU legislation related to nuclear safety. At the end of the conference, stakeholders expectations and future perspectives in nuclear safety in Europe will be debated.
Attendance is by invitations sent by National Regulatory Authorities.
