Results of the first public meeting on “EU Stress Tests” and the peer review process.
The first public meeting on EU Stress Tests for nuclear power plants and the pertinent peer review process took place in Brussels on 17 January 2012. Final National Reports on EU Stress Tests at nuclear plants available
By 31 December 2011 sixteen national nuclear regulators (including Switzerland and the Ukraine) submitted their final national reports on EU Stress Tests carried out at their nuclear power plants.
All reports are accessible on the ENSREG website under www.ensreg.eu/EU-Stress-Tests/Country-Specific-Reports.
ENSREG establishes a 10-year indicative schedule for International Peer Review Missions in EU Member States.
The Nuclear Safety Directive (1) requires that the EU Member States shall, at least every 10 years, arrange for periodic self-assessments of their national framework and competent regulatory authorities and invite an international peer review of relevant segments of their national framework and/or authorities with the aim of continuously improving nuclear safety.

Proposed procedure on peer reviews agreed upon. Recommendations put forward by the three ENSREG Working Groups endorsed. Draft Work Programme for 2012/13 adopted. Chairperson mandate extended exceptionally for six months.
ENSREG WG2 - Seminar on "A better use of the Joint Convention in the EU", 2 - 4 November, Vienna
The seminar is open to the members of ENSREG's Working Group 2 and experts or representatives designated by the members of ENSREG.
